A Cute Christmas

I didn't really pay much attention to the A Cute Christmas stamp set when I first looked through the holiday mini, but there are just so many cute elements in the set that it won me over. This is yet another quick, easy card. Seeing a theme here? I should have stamped the Season's Greetings a little lower, oh well. Don't you just love the tensel trim? Makes me remember crafting when I was a kid.

BoldCardstock: Garden Green, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Candy Cane Christmas DSP.
Stamps: A Cute Christmas (w# 120825, C#121133) , Four the Holidays (#116921)
Ink: Garden Green, Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride, StazOn Jet Black.
Accessories: Silver Tensel, Scallop edge border punch, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/4" Circle punch.

Ok I have to get busy on my Christmas cards.... They should have already been in the mail!

The Girls meet Santa and Christmas class pictures

So my girls are 5 and 3 and they have not ever sat in Santa's lap. I know some of you will think that is horrible of me, but I ask them every year and they just look terrified so we don't make them. Well this year I thought it was about time to have a picture with Santa so I told them that they had to tell Santa what they would like for Christmas. They agreed and I am so glad! Katie was ready, Piper looked scared but I didn't give her a choice I just said "Hop in Santa's lap".

They both did great, and I finally have pictures of them with Santa. I think they turned out pretty cute.

They are having a little chat with Santa, I just love it!!

The next group of pictures are from Terrie's Christmas Card Class. What an awesome Girls Night Out!

These girls were seriously working on a card. From left to right: Laura (Miss I'm not crafty, but finished before everyone else and my cards look fabulous! She ended up taking advantage of the starter kit special too. Welcome to my group Laura!), Mary Alice, and Gilda.

Alicia, Hollie, and Terrie. Aren't they just so cute? I love them!

Stephanie, Annie (My awesome downline helping everyone!) Pam (she wanted to charge me $87.50 to post her picture, clever girl that's what the started kit cost last month! I didn't pay, but she signed up anyway) Nikki, and Brie. They were all hard at work and didn't have time to look at the camera.

I had a great evening stamping with these girls. They are so much fun. The whole house was full of chatter, laughing, and Christmas Music! Thank you Terrie for Hosting such a fabulous night!
Here is one of the cards that everyone made. The Santa is from the Jolly Old Saint Nick (wood#121711 clear#121321) stamp set in the mini catalog. There is a To: From: stamp in the set that that would be perfect to stamp in Santa's beard for Christmas tags. This set is only available until January 3, 2011 so if it's on your list you may want to act fast.
Thanks for listening to me ramble, Happy Stamping!

Medallion Christmas card

Wow, it's been a long time since my last post. I'm not sure where October or November went. I've been pretty busy with classes, workshops, and family the last couple months. I'll try to make it up to you. I've taken lots of pictures this morning and have plans to share them over the next week, so make sure you visit again. Ok so for the real reason you are here.... you want to see a project right? This is one of the cards we did at Mary Alice's Christmas Card Class Yesterday. Thanks Mary Alice! I think everyone had a great time!!

What do you think? It was quick and easy. We stamped the Medallion Background (#115223) on Baja Breeze cardstock with Whisper White Craft Ink (#101731). The Merry Christmas is from the All Holiday Stamp set (#114916) and is stamped in Night of Navy Classic ink. We also added a Clear Rhinestone Brad (#113144) for a little bling.
This is one of the cards we will be doing at my Christmas Card Class on Tuesday, December 7. If you are interested and need more details let me know. RSVP's are due Monday.

A Scrap layout and Button Share

This is the Scrap layout that the Scrapers in my Stampers club did in June.

We used the level 2 Host set " Punched Posies" (Retiring at the end of August) out of the Summer Mini catalog to stamp the flowers and butterfly and then punched everything out with punches, no cutting, Gotta love that!! ok so we had to cut the leaves, but that was easy! The flower stems are 1/4" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon (111368). What a great way to add texture to a layout and use scraps of ribbon. Other embellishments for the page: Top note die for some journaling or maybe a special picture, and Designer Buttons, oh how I love the buttons! Did you know you can cut a tiny little sliver of matching cardstock and thread it through your button?

Ok so I have a weakness for buttons…. They just add that final touch to a card or scrap layout. I’d like to have a sample of all the new designer buttons. Would you like to join me? I am going to split the packs into 4 share spots. Each spot will receive 1 of each shape in each color from each color collection, (example you will receive 1 real red marbled button, 1 real red double circle, and 1 real red small flower) 72 buttons in all! The cost for each share is $11. Better deal if you’d like 2 of each button, just sign up for 2 spots for the special price of $20. Note: All prices already include shipping and taxes for pickup. If you would like your share to be mailed contact me and we will work out the shipping.

Note: I still have a couple spots left in my 1/8” Taffeta Ribbon Share if you are interested click here for the details.

Big Shot Class

I had a big shot class Saturday and I hope the ladies had as much fun as I did. We made 4 projects using the Big Shot. The main point of the class is to become confident in using the Big Shot and which plates/pads to use with what die or folder. They asked lots of questions and were cranking like pros by the last project! Way to go Girls! See it isn't that hard. Here's a picture of the projects we made:

The Bear card is actually from my friend Mary Robinson (hi Mary!!) She sent it to me earlier the year when I was having all the Thyroid problems. It really did make me feel better that day! Some of the ladies stamped Happy Birthday on the inside to give to a small child, great idea! The Silver Butterfly is cut from a aluminum can (if you know my husband and I then it won't be any surprise to see Mt. Dew on the back side of it :)) I used my Craft and rubber scissors (103179) to cut the top and bottom off the can so I could lay it flat and run it through my big shot with the Beautiful Butterflies die (114507). We then used the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (117335) to add the dotted texture. A simple punch of the crop-a-dile (108362) and a Clear Rhinestone Brad (113144) to sandwich some galvanized wire between the butterflies and we have a cute recycled plant stake. The Birdhouse was made with the Mini Milk Carton Bigz L die (117310) two-step Bird (117191) and scallop trim border (118402) punches. The scallop circle card (sorry the picture is a bit, ok alot blurry) is a baby bib card. I used the Scallop Circle (113468) die and the Clear Circle (114533) die. The stamps sets used were Fox and Friends (117020 wood mount) and Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370). I'm not sure what I did before I had the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, I think I use it every chance I get. It's just a great go to set!! If you have any questions about any of the projects leave me a comment and I will do my best to help you out. If you are in the White Bluff, TN area and would like to attend my next big shot class click here to see my calender and get the dets.

Have fun stamping.

Stacey

New Catalog Excitement!!

Earlier this month the Girls and I went to visit my friend Shannon and her new baby Emma. So stinking cute!! I'll try to post a picture of them later. While I was there Shannon received her new catalog. YIPPEE!! It was so exciting to look at the new catalog together in person, instead of on the phone. We'd point an ooh and aah, like Getty little girls. :) Katie, my 5 year old, snapped this picture of us. If you look close you can see little Emma's head right above the catalog. She was all comfy cuddled up to her mommy!

If you'd like to ooh and aah over the new catalog, join us for my Catalog Kick off on Tuesday, July 6th. Email me (staceynjason_bowers@yahoo.com) for all the details, but hurry the deadline to RSVP is July 1st.

Last chance to order these sets

I thought I would show you Katie's Birthday invitation from April.

Inside:

Thursday night was my Stampers Club night, I had a great time chatting and stamping with them. They are all wonderful ladies and I am so glad that they could all make it to class. This is what I came up with:

Give Credit where credit is due!!! I was inspired by the very talented Gretchen Barron. I think the original creator is Dawn Olchefske , She has a nice video on how to make them.

Color Renovation

You may or may not have heard, Stampin up! announced last month a Color Renovation. I am so excited for the Color Change!! While I will miss some of the colors that are retiring, I am overjoyed about some of my favorite past In Colors returning as core colors and the 5 brand-new core colors. Check out the flyer for the New Color Collection (click here) that Stampin’ Up! will be offering in the New Catalog July 1, 2010. In order to make room for the new colors we will have to bid a Fond Farewell (click here) to some colors, 30 to be exact!

If you want to stock up on the colors that are retiring, I would highly suggest do so sooner than later. While Stampin’ Up! knew that everyone would want to stock up on retiring colors, the orders have been greater than anticipated and they may run out.

Simply Adorned

I am so excited to share my new Simply Adorned Charm and inserts with you. My oh so awesome upline, Julie Salva, gave us a challenge last quarter, the ones that meet the challenge were treated to a wonderful breakfast and we all received a Simply Adorned charm and chain. We made 3 inserts for the inside and a really cute card using the Awash with Flowers Stamp set, I'll share that tomorrow. Ok are you ready to see?

I'm not quite sure why I waited so long... isn't is Sweet? The best part is you can make endless inserts to match every outfit you have with scraps left over from the beautiful cards and Scrapbook pages you are making, Wink Wink. I think these would make great Mothers Day gifts. Would you be interested in a Simply Adorned Class? If I have enough interested, we will make a fun class. Leave me comment, or send me an email and let me know.

How to tie Pretty Knots and Bows

Surgery went well and I am trying to get back in the grove of live. I have a follow-up appointment this afternoon, we will find out the results of my thyroid test. In the mean time I have a video to share with you. If you have ever had trouble tying a nice knot or bow you will find these tips from Stampin' Up! employee, Ellen Richards useful. I still have 2 Satin Ribbon Shares available if anyone is interested. Click here for details.

I'm still here!

Sorry for not posting in so long. It has been pretty busy at our house. Long story short; In January at my yearly checkup my Doctor was concerned about the size of my thyroid, so after several ultra sounds, multiple visits with specialist and 2 biopsies it has been determined that the best coarse of action is to remove my Thyroid. My surgery is scheduled for Monday, March 22. I will have to stay in the hospital overnight, and for those of you that know me, know that the hardest part for me is being away from my girls. Thankfully my MIL is able to stay with us for the week and help us out.

Ok now that we have that out of the way on to why you are here in the first place, to see a cute project! My Friend Shannon is a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is Oneida, TN. She is pregnant and is due April 6th. This is the adorable invitation that she helped her friends and family make for her Shower. (the pictures are a bit dark, sorry)

Isn’t it so cute? Stamp sets she used were Warm Words (115108) and the retired Wild About You stamp set (I think the Fox and Friends (117020) set from the mini would be a good substitute set.). She also used the Scallop Circle, and 1 ¼” punches to make the neck and leg holes.

The next card is one I made last night. I had been making a card using the Country Morning Level One host set and thought it would be cute to just have the little chick on a card.

I know it is plan but sometimes I like the simple one layer cards. The inside says “Happy Easter”. I used my Aqua painter to color the image with So Saffron, More Mustard, and Basic Gray ink.

I’ll try to post again soon.

ps Sale-a-Bration ends March 31, 2010. If you don’t already have a demonstrator that you use and would like to place an order I will be happy to help. If you would like to receive over $380 in stamping supplies for $169. Give me call and we will talk.
